Pottery Jar with a Pair of Slotted Olive Spoons.
These spoons are not only made from Olive wood, for serving olives, they also have a pewter addition displaying an olive branch.
I have paired a Studio Pottery Jar with some beautiful hand carved Olive Wood Spoons. This will be a great addition to a table when a light lunch is served in the afternoon, and you can easily pop your olives (straight form the packet) into the jar. Envision a lovely spread of a Mediterranean-style lunch. These meals typically emphasize fresh vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats like olive oil, and proteins such as fish, chickpeas, or grilled chicken, often featuring staples like hummus, tzatziki, and pita.
The spoons are made from olive wood. This wood is a popular choice for kitchen utensils because it is durable and dense. As a hardwood it resists wear and tear and does not easily splinter or crack. It is also naturally hygienic as the dense, closed grain structure helps resist moisture absorption, which inhibits the growth of bacteria and odours.
Olive wood is prized for its beautiful grain patterns and warm colour, with each piece having a unique appearance. It is very common for olive wood to have two distinct colour zones: the lighter sapwood and the darker heartwood. The left spoon in your image appears to display this natural variation.
