 Jessica Lynch Visits PCGS

(Santa Ana, California) -- A visit by Iraqi War hero and former prisoner of war, Jessica Lynch, to the Santa Ana, California headquarters of Professional Coin Grading Service on May 20th was the subject of a front page story in the May 21st edition of the Orange County Register.

The 21-year old West Virginia former U.S. Army Private First Class, whose rescue from behind enemy lines on April 1, 2003 made international headlines, is participating in the PCGS "Autographed Coin" program to help raise money for her educational foundation.

Orange County Register writer, Greg Hardesty, reported that Lynch "is still is reeling from her surreal journey into celebrity."

While at PCGS headquaters she told the newspaper: "To me, I'm just a regular person. (But) people look up to me. They want my autograph."

Lynch's certified autographs are on PCGS inserts on encapsulated American Eagle silver bullion coins and 1994 U.S. commemorative coins honoring women in the military.

More than 20,000 autographed coins with Lynch's signature already have been sold, according to Miles Standish, PCGS Senior Vice President.

"A portion of the proceeds from sales of the autographed coins is being donated personally by her to the Jessica Lynch Foundation that provides scholarships to the children of military personnel," said Standish, who presented Lynch with an American Eagle silver bullion coin for her recent 21st birthday.

Previous signers in the PCGS Autographed Coin Program include former Presidents George Bush and Gerald Ford.

YOU WILL ALSO RECEIVE THE CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. THE CERTIFICATE IN THE CAPSULES IS ALSO SIGNED BY JESSICA!!!
