The Powermonkey Extreme is IP67 rated which means it is waterproof up to 1metre for 30 minutes and shock resistant which makes it perfect for outdoor, marine and adventure enthusiasts as well as military and aid agencies.
The Powermonkey Etxreme has a massive 9000mAh capacity Lithium Polymer battery and gives real power in a compact, durable shell. This unit is capable of recharging most 5v devices, including iPhones up to 6 times, a Garmin Edge 800 up to 6 times and standard mobiles up to 12 times.
This charger has 2 output channels - 1 outputs 700mAh (standard USB) whilst the DC port outputs 2.1 Amps max to support the Apple iPad (iPad compatible cable included) and other 5v tablet computers (not suitable for 12v or 19v tablets). Although the iPad can be charged directly from the standard USB socket but will charge faster when using the supplied cable via the DC out port.
The Powermonkey Extreme features an LCD screen that displays the battery capacity and working status (on/off) and a unique one touch friction swipe ON/OFF control. This control is designed so that the friction switch can only turned on if swiped from left to right, which helps to reduce the risk of it being accidentally switching on when not in use.
When the 5v device is fully charged the Powermonkey Extreme will automatically turn itself off after 2 minutes via the auto shut-off function so you do not have to monitor the charge state of the device.
The Powermonkey Extreme features a rugged, clam-shell design solar panel which includes Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) technology allowing a full recharge of the Powermonkey Extreme within 15 hours in optimum light conditions. The solar panel also fully supports Apple iPhone / iPod, mobile phones and other 5v devices. It can be attached to tents or rucksacks via the included strap making it ideal for hiking.
