In this auction I am offering the 1939 Judaica Eretz Israel (Palestine) Kofer Hayeshuv 1/2 mil tin token.
Kofer Hayeshuv is the name of the fundraising campaign for the security requirement operating until the establishment of the Israeli State.
The idea of the Kofer Hayeshuv or the "People's ransom fund" initiate by the National Council on July 24 1938, the fundraising campaign established due to the requirement to finance the heavy expenses imposed by a tax levied on the Yeshuv and the Haagana during the 1936 – 1939 events.
One of the ways of collecting the fundraising was minted the half mil tin coin used in the Yeshuv as a legal coin.
Obverse: show the Kofer Hayeshuv shield in the center, around the rim the legend: "Kofer Hayeshuv Bar Tav 1/2 Mil" in Hebrew and in the center the date 1939 in Hebrew letters.
Reverse: Showing the reverse of the front embossment.
Measurement: 18 mm in diameter.
