A richly illustrated hardback book of 285 A4 Pages by the author of "The Martini
Henry Notebook" which sets out to challenge the notion that "all Snider books are just a
dreary re-hash of known facts" by delving into the background of not only Jacob Snider and the tragedy of his dying of starvation in a garret in true Victorian style just days before his rifle reached acceptance, but also the later history of Colonels Dixon and Boxer of the British Ordnance who freely lifted ideas from other inventors and made a few bob on the side out of the production Sniders after Jacob's death, to their eventual downfall.

Readers may be also interested to hear just how close the eventual .450" Snider-
Schneider-Mont Storm-Boxer-Henry-Daw-Eley-Wilson rifle came to being adopted which being slower firing, might well have lost the British the Zulu war a few years later.

But that is only half of the story as the .577 Boxer-Snider-Enfield went on to serve along-
side the more famous Martini-Henry right around the globe and even made an appear-
ance in the First World War. The role of the Snider in British anti slavery operations is also brought back into the light, and then of course there are the small frame sporting
Sniders which also deserve a mention.
As an added bonus there are chapters on reloading ammunition and shooting the Snider
to help the modern enthusiast.

Books will be distributed by mid-June. Pre-orders are open to establish printing numbers.
