No, cutting the wire will break the circuit. If you have extra length, then it is better to double it back or hide the excess around a corner.

No, even though they are bright, they use energy-efficient LEDs which stay cool to the touch. You can safely hang them against curtains or wooden frames without worrying about heat.
What Does "Connectable" Mean?
It means the end of the string has a female socket. You can plug a second set of lights directly into that socket. This allows you to daisy-chain multiple sets together to cover a long distance.
Do I Need an Extension Cord?
