Prepaid 3G - how does is work?

When signing a 3G contract, you need to go through a credit application. You also sign-up for 2 years and can not cancel unless you pay hefty penalties.
With such a contract, the cost of the modem is included in your monthly subscription.

However with prepaid 3G, you pay for your modem upfront and then just buy data bundles as you need them

To load a data bundle you first need to have airtime on the prepaid simcard.
 

Options to load airtime onto the simcard:

1) The simcard has a normal cellphone number. Go to your nearest ATM and load airtime from your bank account

2) If you have internet banking then you can also recharge prepaid numbers from there

3) Or remove the simcard from the modem and insert it in a normal cellphone, then recharge with vouchers

Once you have airtime on the simcard then you simply go to www.vodacom4me.co.za, login with your cell phone number and password, and there you will be able to load a data bundle. Once your data bundle is finished then it will automatically start using normal airtime at R2 p/MB until you load a new data bundle again.

Please note Vodacom standard data bundles expire after 30days and Vodacom advanced data bundles expire after 60 days
