During the Anglo-Boer War, in 1900, Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands send the cruiser ship Gelderland to Lourenco Marques in Mozambique to pick up President Paul Kruger to take him to safety in Europe. The two brass coins are a Pond token of the President dated 1896 and a 10 Gulden of the Queen dated 1897.
