Vogue was more than likely a sub brand of fine bone china that was absorbed by one of the bigger parent groups such as the Pearson Group which purchased most of the leading brands such as Royal Doulton and Royal Albert in the 1950s and 1960s.
The insurance value on this set is apparently around US$800 and resale seems to hover around $450.
Gorgeous ballet pink tea set with single line gilt trim and scalloped edges. The set includes 5 trios (cup, saucer and side plate), a cake plate, a sugar bowl and a spare saucer and side plate. They are in brilliant condition with no cracks, chips or crazing. There are a few smudges and marks from what I assume is previous packaging in newspaper. The set will be properly cleaned before being shipped. Please not, this is not a brand new item and although it is in brilliant condition, it is being sold as is with no returns or guarantees. See photos.
Please see end of listing for shipping terms (there is a freebie involved for some buyers). If you bid or buy this, it is taken as an acknowledgment that you have read the entire listing.
This set is authentic bone china produced circa 1950 and as a set in this pattern of this size, almost impossible to locate. International companies specialising in replacing lost, broken or missing tea set pieces list this pattern but only the side plates but never have them in stock. Some times the cups and saucers are listed for sale privately but never the entire set. Dealers normally sell a duo of this pattern for between US$25 and $40.
Despite unbelievably intensive searching, I have not been able to locate a tea pot or milk jug in this pattern. As I am not an expert, I approached a few international china/porcelain dealers who said they have not seen a large set of the Pink pattern with the single gilt line trim and have not seen a tea pot or jug in this pattern.
The winning bidder will receive this item packed in either one or two boxes (depending on the shipping method) and each piece will be wrapped in plain white tissue paper before any other wrapping is used (to prevent color transfers or marks). The set will be packaged properly to reduce risk of damage while shipping. I pride myself on ensuring that people enjoy buying from me and will do as much as I can to make it a pleasant experience.
