Marklin introduced Primex line in 1969 to increase export market share in self service department stores whilst protecting the Marklin name for full hobby and railway shops.

This particular model has the same detail as the Marklin 3074  diesel. All Marklin parts were used on these products and still carried the Marklin guarantee
