Sony PlayStation 3 fat / phat console only

I purchased this one in a lot with games , unfortunately this console does not switch on at all , I plugged it in and nothing happened at all , no light , no beep , nothing at all . I would assume theres a power supply issue ? I lack the tools and knowledge to diagnose properly so I would rather sell it for spares or repairs . Overall the console looks to be in decent condition with the normal scratches on the face plate , nothing serious there , however there is a plastic piece missing at the back . The hard drive has also been removed and the cover is missing . The silver trim at the front has a couple small scratches .
