About MONKEY ISLAND SPECIAL EDITION COLLECTION:
Monkey Island Special Edition Collection (abbreviated as MISEC) is a retail release of the Special Editions of the first two Monkey Island games, being The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition and Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge. In addition to all the features present in the previously released Special Editions, the disc contains never-before-released bonus materials, including Concept Art for the games, Full-Length Remastered Game Soundtracks and the storyboard and concept art for the Monkey Island Movie that was in production at one point at ILM.
THE SECRET OF MONKEY ISLAND (abbreviated as SMI) is the first game in the Monkey Island series of adventure games. It was a collaborative work between Ron Gilbert, Tim Schafer and Dave Grossman. The game introduces the protagonist Guybrush Threepwood and many other recurring characters and covers the first chapter in the Monkey Island series, including Guybrush's first fateful journey to the titular island. The game is divided into four sequential Parts: The Three Trials, The Journey, Under Monkey Island and Guybrush Kicks Butt.
MONKEY ISLAND 2 LECHUCKS REVENGE (abbreviated as MI2) is the second game in the Monkey Island series of adventure games. It had largely the same development crew as the first one, led by Ron Gilbert with the assistance of Tim Schafer and Dave Grossman. The game now follows Guybrush Threepwood's quest for the treasure of Big Whoop. He finds himself on the backwater island of Scabb Island and from there he makes his way between two other islands. As per the title, LeChuck is raised from the dead and intends to take his vengeance on Guybrush. Like the first game, this one is divided into four parts although it is unique in that most of the story is told as a flashback by Guybrush.
