Motorbike racing is thrilling. Traditionally, few forms of motorsport deliver on-track action that's as manic, frightening, spine-tingling (and potentially spine-snapping) or generally insane. Bike fiends know this all too well, and have often reminded their Formula One-loving chums that you get more overtaking in a single bike race than they get to enjoy in an entire season.
If these sounds like the complaints of a worryingly obsessive individual, they’re not. Visuals and audio -- sound here is reasonable, if unimpressive -- combined with all of the little touches that make up the production values are instrumental to player integration. Mess these up and no matter how great the system underpinning your creation is, no one will emerge from the marriage unscathed. SBK 2011 may tweak key aspects of last year’s SBK X to make the experience more rewarding, yet given the lack of progress elsewhere, fans of the franchise will be forgiven for considering it a lacklustre update in the series. It’s still a fine ride, sure, but it could have been a thrilling one.
SBK 2011 features improved visual and effects, as well as 20 motorbike models, mulitplayer for up to 16 players, 9 bike manufacturers, 70 riders and 16 tracks from the 2011 season.
