So here is also an interesting medal, it has Queen Victoria young head on the one side and the wild lion on the other. I have been told that not all of these medals in fact had bars above them, some were just like this as well, some had the 1877-8 bar, some had the 1889 bar, some were from The Zulu War, some were from the Bantu War, Morossi's Mountain and other places as well, I cannot make out the wording on this medal, thus judge for yourself, maybe the edge was ground down, maybe it has been re-named, however as I have stated before, I am not an expert, if anybody required high resolution pic;s of this medal, then please ask me a question and give me your email address and I will send some along to you, please note, this medal will only be sold here while it is on auction.

Maybe the person that had it, tried to grind down the edge out of boredom or it is just worn down by age? But the letters sure look original to me?

Maybe the person was busy trying to grind the "old" name off and then stopped and the name that is still on this medal is still the original name?

You decide.
