The Pump Float Switch is a practical water-level control device used to automatically switch a pump on or off according to the water level in a tank, sump, borehole tank, drainage pit or water-storage system.
It helps prevent common water-system problems such as tank overflow, dry-running pumps, unnecessary pump cycling and water wastage. Warthog Agencies lists float switches as part of its pump and tank accessory range, alongside booster pumps, filtration systems, tank fittings and water-backup solutions.
| Model | Cable Length | Best Used For |
|---|---|---|
| Pump Float Switch | 5m | Standard tanks, small sumps, compact pump installations |
| Pump Float Switch | 10m | Deeper tanks, larger water-storage systems, longer cable runs |
The Pump Float Switch 5m / 10m is designed to control the water level in a tank or sump by activating or deactivating the connected pump when the float rises or falls.
In a tank-filling setup, it can help switch the pump off when the tank is full. In a drainage or sump application, it can help start the pump when the water level rises and stop it once the water has been pumped down.
The float switch must be installed with enough free space to move up and down without getting stuck against the tank wall, pipework, pump, cable or other fittings. Poor positioning can cause incorrect switching, pump dry-running or tank overflow.
Electrical installation should be done correctly and safely, especially where the float switch is used with pumps, controllers or mains-powered equipment.
