Spirit quartz. also known as cactus or porcupine quartz because of its unique formation is found only in Boekenhouthoek, mpumalanga south Africa.
These crystals are unique in their formation in that the main crystal points are encrusted by second generation of smaller crystals which have grown on the prism and their orientation is not related to the crystallographic orientation of the main centre crystal.
