Purslane is used for cooking or used as a pickle. 

It's used for treatment of burns, headache, and diseases related to the intestine, liver, stomach, cough, shortness of breath, and arthritis. 

Purslane has been suggested to have roles in asthma, dyslipidemia, constipation, and type 2 diabetes, among other conditions.
