at Lancaster on the 21st July 1883. He was 19 years old and an Iron Turner by trade. He was 5 foot 7 inches tall of fresh complexion and had brown eyes and hair.

He was married to Ann Garnet on the 18-09-1906 at St Peter's in Lancaster.
On his "Proceedings on Discharge" document his conduct was described as Exemplary and special qualifications for employment in Civilian life were given as " Quarter Master Sjt in the Orderly Room"
He was discharged on the 24-08-1910.
The QSA and LSGC medal being his only entitlement. SA 1901 clasp connected with unofficial rivettes as is often found due to the fact that the date clasps were often sent out at a later date.
