Edwin Bellchambers attested into the Medical Staff Corps at Aldershot on the 4th November 1893 at the age of 20 years and 4 months. He attested for Short Service- 7 Years with the Colors and 5 Years in the Reserve.

He was born in the Parish of Downe near Bromley in the County of Kent.

At the time of attestation his height was recorded as 5 ft and 3 inches he had a fresh complexion, grey eyes and brown hair.His occupation was given as Labourer.

He served from 04/11/1893-14/11/1899 in England
15/11/1899-12/09/1902 in South Africa
13/09/1902-01/06/1903 in England
02/06/1903-03/11/1905 in Army Reserves

During the Boer War he was stationed at No4 General Hospital in
Mooi River, Natal.

He married Fanny Elvina Dickenson in Bromley on the 23/10/1902
