William Moore attested in to the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment for 7 years service in the Colours and 5 years in the Reserve on the 09/02/1892 in Preston at the age of 19 years and 11 months. His address was given as 30 Marsh Lane, Darwen, Lancashire. He was 5 foot 5 inches tall with a sallow complexion and had grey eyes and brown hair.His next of kin was recorded as his father,John and mother,Mary Moore.
Moore service was as follows: Home 09/02/1892-26/11/1893 East Indies 27/11/1893-19/02/1896 Ceylon 20/02/1896-10/02/1899 South Africa 11/02/1899-19/08/1902 Home 20/08/1902-07/02/1904
Moore was discharged on the 07/02/1904 but re attested on the 10/02/1904. He served until he was time expired on the 09/02/1908
His QSA and clasps are confirmed on the copy of the roll page which was signed in Mafeking on the 15/07/1901. Name Major (illegible)
His KSA and clasps are confirmed on a copy of the roll page WO100/336 p 194 which was signed in Devonport on the 08/12/1902. Name Major (illegible)
Moore also received the Kimberley Star.
During WW1 Moore served as a Private with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers with the Regimental number 65806 he also served in the Labour Corps as Private 39903.
