For sale is a full-size original and perfectly named Queens South Africa Medal to G. Scott of the Cradock Town Guard.
Many of these Eastern Cape-based Town Guards, small in number, were called upon to defend their towns and their livelihoods from marauding Boer Commandos hell-bent on plundering what resources they could from the locals in order to supplement their own need for supplies and provisions. The Cradock Town Guard was one one of these.
