The Cosworth V8 went on to power F1 cars for decades and was used as a stressed chassis component in the Lotus thus pioneering a idea that was later adopted by all other F1 cars.

The Lotus 49 was driven by many of the greats including Jim Clark; Mario Andretti; Jochen Rindt; Emmerson Fittipaldi and Jo Siffert.
