Description
As it's common name suggests, the Queen Palm strikes a regal pose in nearly every landscape. Fast growing, adaptable, and very attractive with their tall sturdy clean stems and large canopies of dark glossy feathery fronds, Syagrus romanzoffiana sits firmly on it's throne as possibly the most popular of landscape palms.
The canopy, being quite broad, lends itself well to providing shade, especially by planting in informal groupings of three or more. The long fronds cast soft overlapping lacy shadows of dappled shade, and are ideal for creating a shady tropical glade in the garden.
Syagrus romanzoffianum is a very popular palm, and is an ideal investment for anyone looking to grow palms commercially. They are sure to sell themselves, as they are in great demand by landscapers and garden centres. There is a huge market for seedlings and young trees, and could be a lucrative investment, even if space is limited.
