Queens South Africa Boer War medal to

5492 Pte. E. Roberts 2/Dorset Rgt

With two bars: Tugela Heights and Relief of Ladysmith.

The medal itself is extremely good as it was obviously never worn by Private Roberts. There is a slight knock to the back of the Relief of Ladysmith bar.

It comes with an old page of casualty details, this shows that Private Roberts died of Enteric Fever (Typhoid) at Pietermaritzburg on the 29th March, 1900. He is remembered on the Dorset Regiment Boer War memorial plaque in Sherborne Abbey, Dorset.
