Small tear without loss on the fold, some foxing and soiling (seen in the images), manuscript insertions.

This item comes from a family archive I purchased in England.

The passengers are largely officers and men attached to the Bechuanaland Field Force (headed by General Sir Charles Warren) intended to dismantle the freebooter republics of Stellaland and Goshen.

The manuscript insertions are in contemporary (1884) hand and identify the regiments and functions of some of the persons named.

Extremely rare.
