Ray was born and educated in Zimbabwe. After training in London and working in leading advertising agencies in Harare, he emigrated with his family to the picture paradise of the Far South with its wonderful settings of mountains and sea.
Retirement has meant Ray can not only paint full time, but he is also well known for his lively and informative lessons and workshops.
Rays works hang in collections in Europe, America and Australasia from group and one-man exhibitions in which he has participated.
On joining the SA Society of Artists, he won first prize for New Member, and has since won Best Watercolour on Show at the Annual Exhibition twice, and received Highly Commended citations several times.
