THIS LOVELY OLD VICTORIAN SURVEYORS COTTON TAPE MEASURE HAS OODLES OF CHARM AND HAS BEEN LOVED TO DEATH. JUDGING BY THE REPAIRS TO THE TAPE I WOULD SAY THIS ITEM WAS TREASURED AND AT THAT TIME THERE WAS NO SUCH THING AS A " THROW AWAY SOCIETY " I THINK THE TOP AND BOTTOM COVERS ARE PRESSED LEATHER WITH BRASS FITTINGS AND HAS SIDES OF LEATHER. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURES THE TAPE HAS BEEN REPAIRED AND HAS AN OLD BUTTON AND STRING ATTATCHED TO PULL OUT THE TAPE FROM WITHIN THE REEL. DIA 7.5cm.
