How do I buy a gift voucher for someone?
To buy a voucher is simple and is the same as purchasing any other item on Bid or Buy. Select the voucher to the value you require and add it to your shopping cart and follow the normal checkout process. You can purchase more than one voucher at a time to make up a specific value by adding more than one voucher to your shopping cart. Vouchers are not redeemed through the Bid or Buy website, but directly with the seller.
How does it work?
Vouchers can be sent directly to the recipient or it can be sent to your email address. If specified in writing the voucher can emailed directly to the recipient. Each voucher reflects the unique Bid or Buy sale reference number (The same number you used when doing the payment). This will be required by the person redeeming the voucher. Vouchers are of sufficient print quality to allow you to print it and hand it to the recipient yourself. Vouchers can be redeemed by contacting us and ordering goods directly which will be despatched using the recipients prefered method, or orders can be collected in Somerset West, Cape Town. Vouchers are not redeemed through the Bid or Buy website, but directly with the seller.
What can gift vouchers be used for?

How to redeem the voucher?
The beneficiary can visit our website www.bonsaitree.co.za and view the available products or they can contact us directly using the telephone number which will be provided on completion of your order. Vouchers are not redeemed through the Bid or Buy website.
What denominations are the vouchers available in?
You can buy vouchers in R250, R500 and R1000. You can purchase more than one voucher to make up a specific value if you so require.
Can I buy vouchers for someone in other countries?
No, at this time Bonsai Tree can only ship orders within South Africa.
Can vouchers be used to purchase more than one product in the same purchase?
Yes, vouchers can be redeemed against as many items as desired.
Do vouchers expire?
Yes, due to inflation and exchange rate fluctuations we can only guarantee a voucher 6 months after they are issued. The expiry date will be displayed on voucher.
What happens if the voucher value is higher than the price of the product(s) being purchased?
If there is change a new voucher to the value of the remaining funds will be sent to you, however this must be used within the expiry date of the original voucher.
What happens if the value of the voucher is less than the price of the products being purchased?
The balance shall be paid by the beneficiary via EFT or cash on an invoice which will be issued for the difference.
What happens if the voucher is lost?
If the voucher has not been used, the person who purchased the voucher needs to contact Bonsai Tree by logging into their Bid or Buy profile.
Can I obtain a refund on a gift voucher I’ve received or exchange it for cash?
No, refunds are not given and vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
Terms & Conditions
- Vouchers have a coupon code which is the same as your Bid or Buy order reference and can be redeemed from Bonsai Tree on any purchase made. Redemption however is directly with the Seller and not through the Bid or Buy website.
- If the value of an order exceeds the value of the voucher the balance must be paid by EFT / Electronc Bank Transfer.
- If the full amount of the voucher is not redeemed, the balance will be given by way of a new voucher. Voucher balances and refunds are also subject to these terms and conditions and are additionally not assignable or transferable.
- Vouchers cannot be used to purchase other Bonsai Tree vouchers.
- It is possible to redeem one or more vouchers against an order.
- Vouchers and unused portions thereof expire 6 months from the date of issue of the original voucher. Vouchers are not transferable and have no cash redemption value.
- Vouchers and/or credit vouchers are not transferable to a 3rd party.
