Okay so please note, all four of these medals are renamed, I bought them to use in some displays, however I have changed my mind and thus now here is your chance to place your bids and take them home, yes some people have this idea that re-named medals are worth nothing, however there must have been a reason why the medal was re-named, maybe somebody lost their medals and they obtained some from another source and thus grind out the other name and then stamped their name onto the "new" medals? Maybe there are other reasons as well behind the ownership of these medals. Maybe the new name or if the old name could be seen would give us the true story, maybe the old name belonged to somebody that was important as well?
The medal with the three bars, is named to SGT. J. W. TODD. A.S.C. it has the Transvaal, OFS, Cape Colony bars on it as well. The bars are worth R150.00 each at least. = R450.00
The medal with the two bars South Africa 1902 and the 1901 bar is named to STAFF SERGT. J. W. TODD A.S.C The bars are worth at least R150.00 each = R300.00
The next one I cannot see any names on it.
The forth medal all that I can see on it are the letters D.M.P.
Maybe Mr Todd has a history to him that somebody will know about?
Please view my other auctions as well, have some interesting other medals on offer.
Check the above pic, there seems to be a difference between the two medals, look at the F on the first medal on the left and the R on the right side medal, interesting hey?
