This is a true rarity, the serial numbers of these notes are in exact sequential order not to mention that the notes themselves are in perfect condition. To find the banknotes in such good condition was a treat onto itself, but then to find a complete and unbroken number sequence was truly amazing.
These are South African R2 notes sighed by reserve bank governor T.W. de Jongh, in brilliant uncirculated condition. These were the first of this new design printed and issued in 1978, as such van Riebeeck appears as the watermark.
The number sequence begins at A1/57-282951 and travels to A1/57-282960 – A COMPLETE AND UNBROKEN SERIES OF TEN!
I have discovered that these notes have only been in the possession of two private collectors including myself!
