RAILWAY TRACK TWO HORNED ANVIL WITH HORSESHOE PRITCHEL HOLE LARGE 53CM LONG HEAVY 11KG

AN AWESOME LARGE ANVIL 53CM LONG AND HEAVY 11KG. IT IS A TWO HORNED (ONE ROUND AND ONE ANGLED) RAILWAY TRACK (MADE FROM OLD RAILWAY TRACKS) ANVIL. IT HAS A PRITCHEL (TO MAKE HORSHOE HOLES) HOLE ON THE ANGLED HORN SIDE. THE BASE HAS FOUR HOLES TO BOLT TO A BENCH.
 
The horn is used mostly in bending operations. It also is used by some smiths as an aid in "drawing down" iron (making it longer and thinner). Most anvils have only one horn. Some anvils, mainly European, are however made with two horns, usually one square and one round. Our anvil has one angled and one round.
 
A pritchel is a kind of punch used in making horseshoes. The Pritchel Hole is a type of punch hole that is used in making horseshoes. It makes the nail holes in the shoes. It is thus just a clearance hole to allow the punch to go through the metal without damaging the anvil face.
