The mouse we're looking at today, the Rainbow Shining Optical Mouse, boasts pretty lights as its personal claim, but as we'll find out, there's a lot of function that goes along with the Rainbow's shining form. Features The Rainbow Shining optical Mouse comes packaged in a somewhat mouse-shaped clear plastic shell, and aside from the mouse itself, comes with a USB-to-PS2 adapter, and a driver disk that you're not likely to need if you're running anything close to a current operating system. Aside from a slightly silly name, the Rainbow, as we'll refer to it from here on out, boasts specs typical of an optical mouse. That includes two buttons (three if you count the scroll wheel button), a detented scroll wheel, 800 dpi resolution, and a USB interface with included PS2 adapter, for those so inclined. It's a fairly compact unit, and very light as well, weighing in at a mere 64 grams. That's only a tad over a third of the weight of my everyday mouse, a Logitech MX700, which tips the scales at a hefty 174 grams. The Rainbow's buttons are integrated into the shell, much like the aforementioned Logitech, rather than being separate pieces of plastic, and around the periphery of the mouse is a clear plastic strip that allows its true self to shine through. Aside from the red LED typically used in optical mice, the Rainbow is also equipped with a blue LED. When in use, the combined light from the two emits a bright purple glow.
