Randall Boggs is a starter character in Disney Infinity 1.0 featured in the Monsters University Play Set and the Toy Box. Randall "Randy" Boggs is thesniveling, highly competitive chameleon-like monster from Pixar's Monsters, Inc. franchise. Voiced by actor Steve Buscemi, he transitions from Mike Wazowski's nerdy college roommate into a ruthless scarer obsessed with beating James P. Sullivan (Sulley Note I have this figure also on auction this week).
 
The physical Sandall Boggs figure works with all versions of Disney Infinity (1.0, 2.0, and 3.0) on consoles including PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. However, he is restricted to the Monsters University Play Set in the 1.0 edition only.
 
Disney Infinity was a popular "toys-to-life" action-adventure sandbox video game series developed by Avalanche Software. Similar to Skylanders it allowed players to place physical character figurines onto an NFC-enabled "Infinity Base" to sync them directly into the game. The series spanned three major installments (Versions 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0) between 2013 and 2015 before being officially retired.
 
Game Editions & Content
1.0 Edition (2013): Focuses on Disney and Pixar worlds. Starter packs included worlds like Monsters University, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Incredibles.
2.0 Edition (2014): Introduced Marvel Super Heroes. The starter pack featured an Avengers play-set and characters like Iron Man, Thor, and Black Widow.
3.0 Edition (2015): The final entry introduced Star Wars along with additional Disney and Marvel content. Starter sets featured the Twilight of the Republic (Clone Wars era) play-set.
 
2. Physical Figure Compatibility
Figures and power discs are forward compatible. Characters from 1.0 can be used in 2.0 and 3.0. However, characters from 3.0 cannot be used in the older 1.0 or 2.0 games.
 
3. Current Status
All official online servers and features (like community-created Toy Boxes and multiplayer) were officially shut down in March 2017. The console versions of the games can still be played offline, but digital storefront downloads have been removed.
 
4. Portal Base Compatibility
The physical USB portal (the Infinity Base) is console-dependent.
Playstation/Wii Bases: Interchanges across all PlayStation (PS3/PS4) and Nintendo (Wii/Wii U) consoles.
Xbox Bases: Locked to specific console families. An Xbox 360 base will not work on an Xbox One, and vice versa.
 
5. Game Modes
Structured, narrative-driven campaigns that are restricted to characters from that specific franchise (e.g., only Star Wars characters can enter Star Wars play-sets).
Toy Box Mode: An open sandbox mode where all characters are playable and players can build their own custom worlds and games.
