Offered on this auction is this 1850 TOWER Wooden, Silver & Brass Inlaid MUZZLE LOADER RIFLE.

 

 

 

This Antique Silver and Brass Inlaid Muzzle Loader Rifle is operational (the hammer cocks correctly, and releases via the trigger), with the Percussion head missing.

 

The Trigger and Guard are Solid Brass with the Guard being engraved.

 

 

 

The Side Plate is Silver, engraved with a logo of a Crown and the maker’s mark “TOWER 1850”.

 

 

 

 

The Butt Plate is Solid Brass, measuring 12.5 cm from bottom to top and 5 cm wide. The Brass Inlay continues along the top of the Oak Stock for 6 cm, with the numbers “7 / 48” engraved on the top.

 

 

The Oak Stock measures 33 cm in length.

 

 

The Oak Barrel measures 99 cm in length, with the steel Barrel measuring 103 cm in length.

The Rod Holder measures 66 cm from the top of the Barrel, with three solid brass fittings along the Rod Holder. There is no rod.

 

 

 

 

This Antique Silver and Brass Inlaid Muzzle Loader Rifle measures 137 cm from the base of the Butt to the top of the Barrel.

 

The barrel is smooth inside. There are no holes drilled in the barrel.

 

This item is in excellent condition for its age.
