An EXCELLENT example of a RARE, 1903 British North Borneo 2½ cent Coin. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state of preservation , with detailed Graphic Design Relief on  obverse and reverse. All nomenclature is present & legible. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Coin has been subject to circulation/ generous handling. Surface finish appears lustrous & planchet is intact. 

This Coin would have been utilised within the British Protectorate of North Borneo ( founded in 1888) as legal tender. The territory was acquired by means of territorial exchange and economic treaties with other Colonial Powers- as well as, the Sultan of Brunei.
