A stunning piece of genuine 1930s British Art Deco glassware!
This beautiful frosted green pressed glass powder pot/trinket jar was manufactured by the famous Bagley & Co. (Knottingley, Yorkshire, England). It features the highly sought-after, geometric "Whitby" pattern (Catalog No. 3002), originally introduced in 1935.
The piece features a distinct, multi-stepped fan-shaped finial handle on the lid and an octagonal geometric base that screams classic Art Deco styling.
The Uranium Glow:
This item contains uranium oxide mixed into the glass formula, making it a true collector's piece. It reacts spectacularly under UV light, throwing off an intense, vibrant neon-green fluorescent glow (tested with a standard 395nm UV blacklight).
Condition: Vintage condition with an exceptionally strong, vibrant green glow under UV light. The exterior displays beautifully. On the inside/underside of the lid, there are two flaws along the seating flange: one larger flake chip and one smaller nick/flea bite (both pictured). Both of these flaws are entirely concealed when the lid is placed on the bowl and do not detract from its outward appearance
