Royal Albert "Dainty Dinah" is
a vintage bone china pattern produced in England, depicting a young lady in a bonnet and crinoline skirt surrounded by a floral garden scene. The pattern was active around the 1930s and has since been discontinued. The design was inspired by a different product entirely: an English toffee brand from the early 1900s.

The "Dainty Dinah" image first appeared as a brand icon for a line of toffees in 1914, produced by confectioner George Horner. 

    The character was modeled on Horner's real-life chauffeur and personal assistant, Alice Scott.
    The image of the "Dainty Dinah" character also appeared on many promotional toffee tins, which are now highly collectible antiques.
