Instructional Plaque remains legible in both English & Afrikaans.  Piece has been securely mounted upon a hardwood plinth / panel. Item was formerly present within a SA Railways Passenger Carriage. Plaque is Second-Hand and has been subject to polishing / surface finish enhancement.

An EXCELLENT example of a RARE,  1930s South African Railways Metallic Passenger Carriage Plaque Mounted on a Hardwood plinth. This piece appears to be in a VF state of preservation , with detailed Cast Graphic Relief on  obverse. All insignia present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Piece appears to have been polished during its lifetime. All instructions/  nomenclature remain legible in both English & Afrikaans- requiring passengers to wait until the train comes to a complete stop , prior to opening the Carriage doors. 

This piece would have been securely mounted within the cabin of the Passenger Carriage of a SA Railways Train during the period from 1935 - 1950.
