An EXCELLENT example of Rhodesian Bush War, 1960s SA Security Forces 1st Pattern Camouflage Cap w/ Neckflap. This piece appears to be in a VF state , with detailed Camouflage Design Relief patterns on obverse and reverse. All parts appear present. Appropriate Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Some degree of fading will be evident from sun exposure. NOTE: Small white paint- like markings are present on one panel. Material remains complete and press studs are functional. Liner is intact and displays minimal signs of wear. Neck-flap folds and secures well- allowing for full extension.
This piece would have been utilised by South African Security Forces personnel, seconded to Rhodesia - in order to assist with Counter-Insurgency operations. The 1st Pattern uniform attire was in usage from 1967 until Forces withdrawal in August 1974.
