For sale is an original Bank of Biafra 5 Shillings note issued during the Biafran Civil War (19671970). This scarce note was issued by the short-lived Republic of Biafra in 1968, representing a vital piece of African and Nigerian history.

  • Issuer: Bank of Biafra (Republic of Biafra)

  • Denomination: Five Shillings (5/-)

  • Serial Number: NM0894716

  • Design: Features Biafran citizens in traditional attire on the reverse, and a palm tree and ornate design on the front.

  • Condition: Circulated with clear features but visible wear consistent with age. No major tears. Please see photos for exact condition.

  • Historical Note: Biafran currency was only in circulation during the Nigerian Civil War and quickly became obsolete, making surviving notes increasingly collectible.
