An EXCELLENT example of a RARE, 1980s Australian Special Air Service, Bronze Metallic HALO Parachute Wing Qualification Badge. This piece appears to be in a VF + state , with detailed Relief on  obverse. All insignia present. Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Some degree of surface toning will be noted. All retention lugs are intact. Inventory sticker is present  - as piece was part of a large private collection.

This piece would have been issued to members of the Australian S.A.S - who had successfully completed the ( HALO) High Altitude Low Opening Parachutist course qualification requirement. 

The Special Air Service , were formed during World War II - by Major David Stirling , setting the precedent for all modern clandestine & Special Forces units. These formations , continue to function in much, the same role as their predecessors in both times of Peace & Conflict.
