An EXCELLENT example of Border War, 1980s South African Medical Service ( Military ) Instructor's Crimson Woven Parachute Chord Lanyard. This piece appears to be in a VF state of preservation , with detailed pattern Relief on  obverse and reverse.  All insignia/ functional parts present. Appropriate Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. 

This piece would have been worn by Physical Training, and other specialized instructors within the SA Military Health Service prior to 1994 - as a symbol of rank / identification.
