An EXCELLENT example of a RARE,  1980s British Special Air Service 'Subdued' Metallic Beret Badge w/ Slide. This piece appears to be in a VF state , with detailed Relief on  obverse. All insignia present.Minimal Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Toning may be noted - Retention Slide is present and securely mounted. 

This piece would have been utilised by British S.A.S members with their issued Beret headgear. The Subdued variant - was intended for Operational usage as opposed to prior issued pieces. 

The Special Air Service- was formed during World War II, by Major David Stirling as a formation intended to perform clandestine & covert operations. This Unit - served as the predecessor of all Modern elite & Special Forces Regiments around the world.
