This is a very, very rare proof krugerrand, only 987 were minted on order at Gold Reef City during 1989.In February 4, 1989 On those days SA Mint didn't slab the coins but I had it graded and slabbed by the South African Gold Coin Exchange.Gold Reef City in Johannesburg minted from 1987 to 1991, 5 years, only 4,859 1 Ounce Proof Gold Krugerrands with the GRC mint mark on them. Mintages from 1987 to 1991 were respectively 1,160 1,220 987 1,066 and 426 coins. So, with a total of only 4,859 1 Ounce Proof Gold Krugerrands with GRC mint marks out of so many millions of 1 Ounce Proof Gold Krugerrands minted since 1967, these 4,589 coins surely must be very, very rare and special!
