C1900 - Prints of First Edition Military Intelligence Maps
What a fabulous find for the Collector of Africana! These maps were compiled by the British for Military Intelligence, for the Field Intelligence Department, Cape Town in 1900 and each map measures 42x29.5cm. There are 68 maps in total for South Africa. Printed on cardboard type paper and in good condition, the shading of the folds of the original maps and tape on the edges of the original maps visible on the prints. These maps were compiled as a set, some but not all maps are marked "First Edition" and some maps have the footer "Imperial Map of South Africa, Compiled for the Field Intelligence Department, Cape Town, 1900" and signed by John Wood. There are a couple of blank areas on the map of South Africa where the section maps are not available in this collection, these spaces are fortunately few. Parts of southern KZN are not available.
Selling for R70 for a single map, or R1999 for the whole collection of 68 maps. Shipping for maps under 1 kg is R55, shipping over 1 kg will be R65. Shipping for the entire set is R75.
