A Collector's Dream: Ametrine from the Heart of Riemvasmaak

Size:  137mm x 138mm x 35mm Approximately
Weight:  714 gram
This striking crystal specimen is a natural wonder from the Riemvasmaak region in the Northern Cape of South Africa, showcasing a gorgeous blend of amethyst's soft purples and citrine's golden warmthtogether forming Ametrine. Measuring as a large plate of sharply terminated crystals, this piece exhibits well-defined zones of purple and yellow hues, a classic indicator of true Ametrine formation.
Ametrine is a rare bicolour quartz formed when varying temperatures and iron oxidation levels during crystal growth create distinct purple (amethyst) and golden (citrine) zones in a single crystal. Most commercial Ametrine comes from Bolivia, making South African specimens, like this one, highly unusual and prized.
Riemvasmaak is known for producing some of the world's most vividly coloured and uniquely structured fluorite and quartz varieties. The area's extreme thermal gradients and hydrothermal activity during its geological past helped shape this remarkable example of nature's artistry.
This piece is not just a mineralit's a conversation starter, a gemological rarity, and a must-have for any serious collector.
