This is a Roman silver victoriatus coin, worth 3/4 of a denarius. It was made with the intention of providing an "international" coin, being worth the same as a greek drachm. However, like many of these multi-national coins, it proved to be unnecessary and mintage was stopped after roughly 40 years of issue.

Rev: ROMA.
Victory standing right, crowning trophy.

Crawford 53/1; RBW 191.
