ANTIQUE ILLUSTRATED LONDON NEWS MAGAZINES
5 ISSUES FROM 1944
Lots of WWII news and amazing photos!
The Illustrated London News was the world's first illustrated weekly news magazine. The first issue appeared on Saturday 14 May 1842.
It was published weekly until 1971 and then increasingly less frequently until publication ceased in 2003.
These magazines are becoming increasingly rare and these printed during WWII even more so. Do not let this chance slip by!
Included in this lot are 5 issues from 1944, namely May 6, May 20, August 19, September 23 and November 25.
The magazines contain articles on a wide range of subjects, from daily British news to arts, culture, and news from all over the world. Of course the magazines contain a great deal of valuable info on WWII. Reading modern books about the war is simply not the same as reading these articles. I bet you'd find a lot of facts here that modern books just don't tell you!
Every issue contain hundreds of black and white and monochrome photos and explanatory sketches.
Whether you're a history buff, militaria collector, war fanatic or simply have a passion for old books, these magazines will be an excellent addition to your collection.
As pictured the magazines are in a very good condition. One of the issues is wrapped in plastic and is in even better condition.
You may find slight damaged areas here and there and a loose page or two but as far as we could determine there are no missing pages or major tears, stains or scribbles.
They magazines measure 37cm x 26cm.
Please have a good look at the images to verify condition. Any questions welcome!
