THIS VERY RARE ANTIQUE AFRICAN THROWING KNIFE COMES FROM THE SAHARA AND SAHEL DESERT REGIONS. IT WAS USED BY THE MATAKAM, POTOKWE, LAKKA AND FALLI PEOPLE. THE PIECE IS ABOUT 55 YEARS OLD AND IS MADE OF STEEL AND WOOD. THE THROWING KNIFE HAS DEVELOPED FROM A PRIMITIVE WEAPON TO ONE AS SEEN HERE. THE WEAPON IS TRADITIONALLY THROWN SIDEARM AND IS A HIGHLY EFFECTIVE WEAPON.

THE THROWING KNIFE IS 55.5cm LONG AND PRETTY WELL MADE.
