ON AUCTION IS A RARELY SEEN WATCOMBE FORGE MATT GLAZED ART DECO JUG. IT HAS A TAPERED SHAPE FROM A 7CM DIAMETER BASE TO A 5CM DIAMETER RIM. THE OUTSIDE HAS A MATT DRIP GLAZE. IT IS IN GOOD CONDITION. I COULD FIND ONE OTHER ONLINE WHICH IS SELLING FOR $139. Watcombe Forge was part of the larger Watcombe Pottery in Torquay, England, a pottery that operated from 1869 to 1962, specializing in various wares including decorative terracotta, distinctive faience, and popular "motto ware" pottery decorated with text. The pottery began after the discovery of suitable clay in the grounds of a Watcombe house by Mr. Allen.
